TIPM Settlement

  • Owners of Dodge Durangos or Jeep Grand Cherokees from 2011 to 2013 could have a free check coming thanks to a class action lawsuit
  • Dodge and Jeep are accused of having vehicles with faulty TIMPs, a major safety concern, and are being asked to repair that part free of charge, or reimburse owners who had to pay for it
  • All final eligible claims in the Dodge Jeep class action lawsuit must be filed by December 31, 2015.

If you owned a Dodge Durango or Jeep Grand Cherokee in the model years 2011, 2012, or 2013, you could be in line for a free settlement check thanks to a class action lawsuit! This lawsuit alleges that the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) in these vehicles was defective, and posed a safety risk and that FCA violated federal law by not informing customers of this.

The suit seeks for FCA to either repair the faulty part at no charge, or reimburse customers that had to pay out of pocket for this expense. FCA doesn’t admit that they did anything wrong, and denies that they did anything illegal, but they have agreed to settle this case out of court simply to avoid the hassle of legal proceedings.

That’s where the settlement checks from FCA come in! If you did own a Dodge or Jeep vehicle in those years, submit your claim! Your claim must be received in the Dodge and Jeep class action lawsuit by December 31, 2015. A final fairness hearing for the Jeep Cherokee and Dodge Durango lawsuit will be held at the end of January 2016. Settlement checks will be distributed in the weeks after the final hearing.
